Contemplation

The word Contemplation comes from the Latin root templum (from Greek temnein: to cut or divide)  In a religious sense it is a type of prayer or meditation.Look through the window of my painting and  meditate on your life. This was one of my first paintings. It was conceived during 1998 when i was on a trip to Central  California.Time moves on.

Red Guitar

I was thinking the other day about my guitar painting that i had done and was sitting down to a nice large red wine when it came to me that i could match a wine with a painting. For instance look at the painting i did of this acoustic guitar.

How was i inspired to paint this in the first place? Well i am a follower of Fleetwood-Mac, have been for as long as i can remember which these days is no longer than a few days! Anyway the thought was to be inspired by an instrument from the group.I picked on Stevie Nicks. The Goya guitar that she played on her 16th birthday was truly a remarkable instrument. Here it is. I painted it in red to reflect her bold view on life. If you look up to the top of the painting you can see what looks to be smoke and a reflection of an electric guitar.I guess this Goya would eventually mature into an electric rock and roll goddess. As i sipped my red wine reflected on the guitar. My favourite red wine is “Turnbull”. The Turnbull name goes back to the early 1300’s when a court member of Robert the Bruce saved the king’s life from a ferocious bull.  Now, what wine do you think compliments this guitar ? Send me your comments on what wine  you would match with Stevie Nicks Goya Guitar.
As i sip and reflect on life i wish you all the best. Cheers!

 valleyroad

The Ottawa valley as it is called is filled with lakes, trees, farmsteads and rock. There are small towns bearing evidence of their history of logging, textiles, cheese making etc. An Area settled by pioneers who cleared the land and survived or died. An area rich in history of First nations.
